The Desert Bighorn Sheep is one of the most wanted trophies throughout the international mountain hunting world.
Sierra Madre Hunting has the exclusive rights to hunt over 900,000 acres of prime sheep land in the Northwest of Mexico, including mainland Sonora, South Baja & Tiburon Island or the option to take a sheep inside a fence estate.
Free range sheep hunts:
Our 10 day free range hunts are conducted mainland Sonora or South Baja, mainly on foot by a previous truck or 4 wheeler transportation to the hunting area. After glassing and locating a shootable ram, the stalk will begin to try getting within 200-250 yards, but be prepared for longer shots if needed. During the past years, we have accomplished to hunt free range trophies ranging from 160” to 178”.
Safety is our main priority and be assured, that from your arrival, during the hunt and your departure, our team will be in charge to make the hunt as accessible as possible to any of our clients. Most of our free range hunts are based in west African style tented camps with bathroom, toilet, electricity and all the equipment and services in order to have the most comfortable possible camp, but the use of a spike camps in order to make the final approach, is very common.
High Fence sheep hunts:
This 2 day hunts take place in a fenced ranch with a size that still allow the hunters to have a real hunting experience through the inside mountain range where the sheep roam. This is not a pen hunt. Our clients have the possibility to take a real big trophy for a very accessible price. Facilities, food and service are five star with individual bedrooms, en-suite bathroom, TV room, gourmet cuisine, alcoholic beverages, horseback riding among other amenities.
Hunting season runs from November through March and you should expect temperatures from 28º-33º during the morning and 75º-95º through the day.
